5-Day Darkness Retreat
Norberg, Västmanland County
Allows the body to fully recalibrate to the rhythm of darkness.
Five nights and days in complete darkness create the conditions for a steady and uninterrupted rhythm. With this duration, daily patterns begin to align naturally, allowing the retreat to take on a slower and more grounded pace.
The extended time in darkness supports a continuous immersion, where external distractions are replaced by a stable and undisturbed environment. This structure provides space for deep rest, clarity, and restoration, while giving the body and mind time to adapt fully to the absence of light and external demands.
The five-day retreat suits those who wish to explore a more extended stay or sense the full effect of darkness at its natural rhythm. It offers balance between depth and manageability, making it a preferred choice for many guests returning to Noord.

About Noord Darkness Retreats
Noord was originally founded in 2022 under the name Glänta, with the vision of creating a center for inner development and scientific exploration of consciousness. In 2025, we changed our name to Noord to better reflect our international orientation and our focus on research and innovation in mental health and darkness therapy.
We are proud to be pioneers in darkness retreat (also called dark retreat, darkroom retreat or darkness retreat) in the Nordics. Our journey started back in 2019 and we established the first Nordic darkness retreat center in Stockholm in the summer of 2022. This marked the start of our work to explore the potential of darkness therapy for mental health and personal development.
We are inspired by the Inner Development Goals (IDG) - a framework that highlights inner capacities as the key to a more sustainable and balanced world. We believe that personal development, self-awareness and emotional awareness are crucial to creating long-term change, both on an individual and societal level.
The team has a broad professional and scientific background in health and behavioral informatics, clinical diagnostics, psychology, business development, innovation, health technology and retreats. We combine academic research and technological development with experiential knowledge to create a platform where science and practice come together.
What unites us, however, is not just our professional roles - but our own personal journeys. Having explored inner processes through methods such as darkness retreats, meditation practices and other forms of self-exploration, we share a common understanding of the potential of deeper inner work.
We see ourselves as part of an ongoing learning process and are humbled by the fact that what we think we know can always be developed further. Noord is a platform for both personal and collective transformation, where we together strive to contribute to a more sustainable and conscious world.
